Summer 2004 Internship Opportunities

Campaign Coordinator: To develop public awareness campaign to host during sexual assault awareness month. Intern will be responsible for implementing campaign. The awareness project could be utilized both summer and fall semesters. We host several projects through out the year, they are as followed: Candlelight Vigil, Watch Your Drink, Safety Awareness Workshop. We are not limited to these projects.

Educational Assistant: To develop educational programs for Director of Programs to be presented to area schools, colleges, civic organizations, etc... Will be responsible for marketing our programs throughout Brazos County and scheduling presentation requests. Will assist with creating lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, appropriate handouts and videos for groups or organizations and other media outlets. Maybe asked to assist with actual presentation or to give an presentation --- depending on interest level. Will also work at informational fairs, attend semester fairs on TAMU and Blinn campuses and community-wide fairs.

Race for Awareness Coordinator: The purpose of this internship to develop, coordinate, market, publicize, and implement the “Race for Awareness” fundraiser for the Rape Crisis Center, Brazos Valley. The individual will be responsible for the developing the schematics of the event from beginning to end. This includes reviewing how the event was done in the past, making changes to update the event, marketing the event to the community and local businesses to gain sponsorships, publicizing the event to gain participants, setting up the route for the participants and see the event implemented at a date to be determined by the Executive Director and the intern.
